Welcome to Oh, the PLACES I’ve been!
I’m always intrigued by the juxtaposition of things.
My youngest daughter and I had just left Churchill’s War Rooms (which was quite interesting, but that’s a post for another day), having left the die hard history lovers of our family behind for a more in depth visit.
We were quite surprised to find this charming cottage right across the street from the War Rooms.
We were on the edge of St. James Park and as the sign above relays it was a Swiss Chalet built for a British Bird-keeper.
The gardens included vegetables…
…as well as beautiful flowers, all in the heart of London (see the tall building in the background).
Such a tranquil place to swim,
…take a rest…
…or exercise a bit. You can find much more about Duck Island Cottage HERE.
Can’t wait to hear of your adventures.
