Mardi Gras

Mardi Gras 028

Welcome to The Tablescaper.

Mardi Gras 033

With Easter so early, it’s hard to believe that it’s time to start thinking about Mardi Gras already.

Mardi Gras 014

Do you celebrate Mardi Gras?

Mardi Gras 042

I have to admit, it’s not a holiday we celebrate…

Mardi Gras 022

…but it sure is a fun table to set!

Mardi Gras 044

I had a great time…

Mardi Gras 049

…playing with the concept of feathers and…

Mardi Gras 028

…plumes.

Mardi Gras 056

Of course there had to be those “traditional” Mardi Gras colors.

Mardi Gras 041

I have no idea what make these colors the colors of Mardi Gras.

Mardi Gras 025

Do you?

Mardi Gras 024

Gold flatware seemed a must.

Mardi Gras 061

Mardi Gras 062 A little plate from Crate and Barrel was at the top of the stack.

Mardi Gras 063

Mardi Gras 065 I purchased the gold squares at a super sale at Pfaltsgraff spied by Kathleen.

Mardi Gras 066

Mardi Gras 068 Love the deep purple.

Mardi Gras 069

Mardi Gras 070 The gold V&B chargers are the finishing touch!

Mardi Gras 021

And how could you celebrate without gilded goblets?

Mardi Gras 037

Enjoy! After all, that’s what Mardi Gras is all about.

I love your feather napkin rings and the purple plates are a wonderful color. We don't do Mardi Gras either, except when we are in Disney World and they throw the necklaces during the parades! Linda

What a great Mardi Gras table. We don't celebrate it either, and I've never set a Mardi Gras table. Looks like you had lots of fun. Love the colors too. Purple and gold are a great combo. The feathers and plumes are a fun touch.

You've outdone yourself! We don't celebrate Mardi Gras, either, but I've always been enchanted by the rich jewel colors and the abundance of gorgeous plumes. The V&B gold chargers are outstanding! Thanks for inviting us for a peak. Cherry Kay

You always manage to add that "extra" touch! Those feathers are a wonderful addition to the table. I still hate that I missed out on those fabulous Villeroy and Boch chargers - they are to die for! Wonderful, as usual!!

Fabulous Mardi Gras table! I wish we still had "dish" outlets here in Missouri.

How gorgeous! Love the gold charger and your gilded stemware. So pretty. I don't celebrate Mardi Gras either, and it always sounds like so much fun. Maybe I should start a new tradition. :) Happy weekend,Babs

Gorgeous! I love all the feathers and plumes you've incorporated! The traditional colors of Mardi Grad are purple for justice, gold for power, and green for faith. And all together, they really make for a colorful table!

Have been to a few parties in New Orleans that were themed Mardi Gras and I must say yours in much better!

Hi!!! What a pretty setting! I see that Tricia already filled you in on the meaning of the purple, green & gold, so I won't beat that dead horse. We have celebrated Mardi Gras for as long as I can remember. My Dad's brother & his family live in Baton Rouge, LA, which is just a stone's throw away from New Orleans. I think that's how we got on board that train. My Mom used to make a huge pot of seafood gumbo every year to celebrate. Of course, I like to decorate a nice table and cook up lots of traditional Southern/Cajun treats. I might even try my hand at pralines this year! Your setting is quite elegant, and that's the kind I like best! It's fun to see the bawdy ones, but the understated, chic ones are my favorite! I would kill or die for those chargers AND that stemware!!!!!!!!!! Gorgeous! Have a great Super Bowl weekend!!!

I think that each of the colors have a meaning, but I forget what. This is one of the most elegant interpretations I have ever seen. Laissez les bon temps router!

We don't celebrate it either...But if we did, your tablescape would definitely be perfect for it. Love it all...especially the feathers. How fun. Thank you for stopping by for a visit.

We are knee deep in Mardi Gras right now in Baton Rouge. We have four king cakes in the office today and two parades rolling tonight! My Mardi Gras wreath is on my front door and my office Mardi Gras cards were just mailed out. This morning we were talking about NEXT year Mardi Gras is a long one (as Easter will be late next year). But... table isnt nearly as lovely as this one is! For not "celebrating it", you have done an excellent job!
