Welcome to The Tablescaper.
Have you felt that cold blast of freezing cold air?
It seems that Kathleen, of Cuisine Kathleen, is having her Winter Tablescape Party at the right time.
I purchased these little plates with our Arctic friends at an After Christmas Sale at Anthropologie.
While the Puffin is cute, …
…I think the White Fox is my favorite.
Even their undersides are pretty!![]()

Below my Arctic friends were plate from the Pottery Barn Outlet a number of years ago.

These Gibson plates were just the right shading. While I’ve used these plates for everyday, I don’t think I’ve ever used them in a post before. I got them last year at Liquidators. Kathleen had spied them in a flyer – a boxed set of 16 pieces for $19.99. I didn’t remember the price so I checked with Kathleen. She said that we later saw them at a Dollar King store where the boxed set was $14.99. Both were a great deal. Kathleen, I don’t think you’ve ever used yours in a post either, have you?

Following the spiky icy feel, these chargers were perfect (HomeGoods, awhile ago $5.99@).
I feel that in the past, when I’ve prepared an icy wintry table, I’ve leaned toward silver and light blue.
It was fun to try something different, in more of the aqua family.
Even the napkin rings gave me a shiver (a purchase from Century 21 awhile ago).
The hurricanes were a recent purchase from HomeGoods, but the saucer champagne (from Ikea) and wine glasses (dollar store!) are from a number of years ago.
It always makes me laugh when I use my everyday flatware (Oneida) but it seemed to have the right spiky touch.
So, rather than fighting that blast of shivering cold air…
Try to embrace it!

What a perfect table for Kathleen's party! I'm really loving the table runner on top of the pretty shade of blue. I love the layers of plates, too.
Oh I really love the blue on the table. The glassware is great. Lovely!
Your arctic table is beautiful, with all the icy blues...love the puffin plate.
I love how you embarrassed the cold! It's very "cool." Looks wonderful. Love the snowflake runner! Always so inspiring!

So very beautiful! I love the aqua! Blessings, Tammy
Yes, the white fox is my favorite too. But I do love those puffins! We have seen them in Maine, and they are beautiful!
Hmm, must have been esp! Love the colors. The glasses are beautiful, and all the plates are so pretty, love the new Arctic animals, very cool!
Great table, now bring on the thaw. I don't care if it is cold, just above 32 so the ice melts!
I am so in love with those saucer champagne glasses!!!!!! I love to drink champagne out of them and pretend I'm running with the Rat Pack back in the 50s! All the touches of aqua really do lend to a modern icy effect, and I'm with you...that white fox plate is my absolute favorite!!! He is right at home!!! I hope you're having a good week!
Your table is so pretty and reminds me of winter past in Chicago. Love the aqua and the dishes.

Very pretty table! I love the plates from Anthro. You can always count on them to have something s little different. I also like the look of the candles in the icy blue vases.
Keep warm!

I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that turquoise color!!! It is my most favorite in all the world & your did it up beautifully!
Gorgeous champagne glasses & I have to agree...the fox plate is the best.
I've never seen plates with pattern on the back.

Fabulous arctic blast! Love the aqua accents and all the white details. The stack of plates is wonderful, especially with the blue checks. ;-) I didn't see those darling plates at Anthro. Love the white fox. I'll have to see if they still have them available.
I love both the puffin and the fox! Those plates are so unique. I don't think I've been in Anthropologie for years, so I'll need to check it out! Your table is very pretty and I think the aqua gives it a bit of warmth. Linda
Love it all...in other words BEAUTIFUL! Would love it if you came by and shared it at http://www.onemoretimeevents.com/2013/01/share-it-one-more-time-4-2013.html
The deep aqua pieces are perfect for an icy winter table...and those accent plates are delightful! I love the embossed Pottery Barn plates. This is the first time that I've seen them. Thanks for inviting us for a chilly peak. My nose is turning red from the cold! Cherry Kay
Love the aqua and the silver! Just a stunning table. Brrrrrrrrr!
hugs, Linda

Beautiful table, plates and colors but my favorite is the table runner!...Christine
Great to see a winter table with a bit of a different take with the aqua colour scheme. LOVE those hurricanes! The chargers are gorgeous too. The snowflake table runner applies the theme to everything on the table - fabulous!
DD
Wow, this is gorgeous! And you stopped me dead in my tracks--those beautiful blue glasses came from Dollar Store??? I wish they still sold them:)
Soothing blue arrangement. The glass wear and the choice of dishes goes well with other things...just beautiful...:):)
I bought those same plates at Anthropologie for under $3 each, but I don't have the cute checked plates to put with them. I love your table! You've inspired me to play with my plates later on in the week. Your table is so pretty, and I love the hurricanes, too!
xo,
RJ
Absolutely stunning! The Gibson checked plates are delightful - I find that I like a lot of their designs!
The Antrho plates are too cool! (literally?)
The whole composition is wonderful. Kudos!
I love this color scheme! After seeing your table and Kathleen's, I think I "need" an aqua tablecloth! I always enjoy reading how and where you acquired your pretties!
Those are the cutest plates! I like the fox too. I do think of white and blue as a cold weather combo and you did it very well. I love that aqua color...very pretty.
Ohhh, I love the aqua! It gives a touch of warmth that you don't get with a deeper blue, kind of like a hope of spring! So pretty! The chargers are my favorite part.
Jenna
Beautiful! I love the blue and white and what a wonderful winter tablescape you've set. The snowflake runner is a great touch. It makes dealing with winter a bit nicer when you have such a pretty table to sit down at!
What a beautiful tablescape!! LOVE the aqua!!
Stunning!!
hugs,
Debbie
Pretty pops of aqua and I love that runner. Never saw such pretty "back sides" on dishes! Love them.
I never thought of turquoise being icy, but it certainly appears that way on your wintry table. I'm not sure I saw those plates at our Anthro, but I will look again because I would like to have some puffins.
"Arctic Blast" is a great name for your wintry table. I just love all the aqua that I'm seeing on people's tables this year -- so pretty! I love your snowflake runner; it looks great against the blue tablecloth. I agree with you on the plates; the white fox is definitely my favorite. :)
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Denise at Forest Manor
You ALWAYS win the prize in my book! This is a favorite color combination of mine. I adore those winter plates from Anthro!
That flatware was my first pattern after college. Later I discovered that my mother had gotten some as well. When I changed, my set went to her and it's still in action for scaping. Good stuff!
Leave it to you to have the most beautiful wintry table. Your little salad plates are so cute and I don't know if I've seen the design go to the back side of a plate! ;)
Love your snowflake runner too, the glasses - all of it. Have a great weekend.
be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Beautiful Arctic and Spiky table!!! You and Kathleen are such amazing shoppers - you should charge for tours of your haunts! Love the runner too!
Just gorgeous! I love this icy "cool" look. The dishes are great, too.
Hugs,
Patti
That is really a great tablescape! I LOVE the blue! Awesome!
A beautiful arctic blast table! Your anthro plates are wonderful, including the back! We're in the middle of our own arctic blast with some icy weather from Mother Nature.
