I am still enjoying Summer to it’s fullest, but didn’t want to miss the opportunity to join in the WhisperWood Cottage Talent Scouting Party.

So, I dug back into some of my Fall favorites. Click on any of the photos to see the complete post.

I love how Fall can have the softness of white pumpkins…

…and even blue pumpkins!

Or how about just mixing some blue into your Fall table?

Before it gets too chilly,…

…take it outside!

I love mixing up the mustards and paprikas of Fall.

And when you’re done with your table…

…remember the other parts of your home that need that touch of Fall (the carpet balls made an appearance on my table and in my entryway).

Your Fall decorations can be as simple as…

…showcasing a gourd upon a candle stick or…

…placing a cloche upon some miniature wonders.

One of my favorite parts of Fall is entertaining.

The crisper days lend themselves to a Soup Party. Cups of all shapes and sizes are clustered around tureens filled with each guest’s specialty.

Fall is the perfect time to bring your book club back together and share that summer reading. Interesting store bought offerings…

…make for an enjoyable evening for the hostess.

A bounty of sweets…

…are the perfect way to end an evening.

Little cups of pumpkin mousse allowed guests to have a taste of each offering.

And don’t forget, Halloween is just around the corner!

Shelter Island–Seasonal Sundays #111

Welcome to Seasonal Sundays.

I love to take a summer drive and just wander.

As I shared a few weeks back (click HERE for post), I had gone to Shelter Island by ferry. Shelter Island (per the US Census) is about 27 square miles but only approximately 12 miles of it is land! 15 square miles are water!

One of the more picturesque parts of Shelter Island which was started in 1871 as a summer resort. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984 as the houses that were built were Stick-Eastlake, Queen Anne Style and Colonial Revival.

Between 1872 an 1880 about 70 summer cottages were built in the area.

As we wandered, we came upon …

…which had…

…not to mention…

…live music!

After a bit of refreshment…

…we felt that we had travelled to a faraway place…

…but in fact we weren’t far away at all.

Picnic

Welcome to The Tablescaper.

One of the many pleasures of summer is…

…picnicking.

When the sun is shining…

…pull out that old quilt…

…and set a place…

…to bask in the sunshine.

Enjoy that sunshine streaming through the glasses and…

…sparkling on the flatware.

There is something about dining with fresh flowers…

…in the fresh air.

The seashells on the napkin ring remind of us of…

…the special place we are.

Let’s have a bit to eat.

Perhaps some homemade potato salad?

Or black bean and corn?

To sit back and enjoy…

…the view.
