Welcome to Seasonal Sundays.
I love to decorate my entryway table for each season. It’s the first thing you see as you walk into my home. I enjoy having my visitors know we embrace each season.
Many long years ago, when we were newly married, I purchased a remnant of lace and made this heart pillow. Not that it’s anything fabulous, but I haven’t sewn in years so it tickles me to bring it out each year.
To be honest, this little vignette isn’t of my doing.
I had pulled the box of Valentine’s decorations out but hadn’t done anything. One afternoon my elementary school aged daughter was wondering about without much direction and I suggested that she decorate for Valentine’s Day.
I must say, she did a splendid job!
The side lights of our entry door are adorned with stained glass hearts.
I had the mantel decorated in different shapes of white for a winter feel. She added the garland and tucked in the pierced metal hearts.
I love to see how my children (well OK, my daughters) can take things that I’ve had for ages and use them in a completely different way.
So, how are you preparing for this season of love?

Such talent! Looks like you have a little tablescaper in training :) Thank you for hosting! xo, Andrea
I love it! I'm really impressed that you decorate the entry hall table for each holiday. I have a space to do that too, just as you come into my front door. I hope you don't mind, but I'd like to copy your idea and do it too. I will post a picture when I've got it all done. Thanks for the idea. By the way, I think your little girl has your talent. Beautiful job.
Oh, I love how your daughter decorated for Valentines Day! She has her mother's eye! Yes, it is fun to see how someone else takes our things and puts their own touch on them. Love it!
L did a good job! Love the garland.
Just a Valentine wreath I made for the door, and few things here and there. I always decorate the chandy above the kitchen table for each season, that's it! But March? Lots!
It's fun to see a younger generation take the lead and follow in her mom's footsteps. Beautiful Valentine's decor! Thanks for hosting! ~ Sarah
I'm new follower and it's my first time joining in. So glad to be here.
Especially love the sweet white angels in front of the hearts, and the mantle garland. Your girls did great!
Your daughter(s) did a FABULOUS job with making your home seasonally lovely!
I especially adore that garland - and the close up so I can tell how it was made. How clever. I would probably have to do liquid bead glue instead, though, I think trying to sew all those tiny pearls on would make me more insane/batty than I already am at this point!
Thank you for a lovely post and for hosting this wonderful link party.
have a wonderful remainder-of-weekend!
Love your entry...especially that pretty pillow! Happy Sunday!...hugs...Debbie
Valentine's is one of those special occasions for which I have nothing, so I will have to enjoy all that you others do to express your creative talents.
I am working on my living room and making gifts for my husband so I haven't been able to do much Valentine decorating. I did put out a few pics on my mantel bc I am so excited to have a mantel to use again. I've painted the room a bold dark blue which is not as easy to decorate around as a white or cream would be. I am thinking I could go gold and red in there for Valentine's Day or all crystal maybe?
Thanks for hosting the party. :D

Here I am, at last. Your post did so much to cheer me up.
J is in a hospital about 2 hours from home. Eldest daughter is here with me. We finally checked in at a hotel near the hospital at about 11pm. I am late to the party with a good or maybe bad excuse. J passed out, just like that, this afternoon. No warning. Fortunately we were in Jeff City and out of the truck when it happened and near good hospitals. He is spending the night there and being monitored. We weighed the possibility of transfer to STL. In the end we chose to stay here and it is for the best. Our daughter and her husband drove over this evening. Son in law took Molly and the truck home and she will stay with him tonight. The poor pup is a tad confused.
Hope to know more in the morning.
This party and the computer is a good diversion as I wait.
Thanks so much for hosting!
What a lovely Valentine entry!
Hugs,
Susan and Bentley

Thank you very much for hosting! I brought some heart-shaped scones :)
Your mantle, table and home are always lovely and decorated just so. Your daughter did a fabulous job. She has a wonderful role model there ;-) xo
I'm busy working on a GO RED FOR WOMEN campaign and raising money to help fight heart disease. Our campaign runs all month and so far we've hosted a casual day, a carnation sale (to be delivered on Valentine's Day), an Oatmeal Bar event and a Karaoke night at one of the pubs near my office. So far we've raised about $2,000 but hoping to hit the $5,000 mark before the end of the month. I've pulled out every touch of red in my closet and will be trying to wear a touch of red every day. I'll post more about the happenings next weekend.
What a feast for the senses--gorgeous photos! Thank you for hosting!

How wonderful that you are "training" your daughter early for the "art of decorating for the seasons"! She did a wonderful job and you can be very proud of her! I'm wishing I would have been enamored with seasonal decorating when my children were young and could have passed it on to them when they lived at home! Thanks for hosting Seasonal Sundays!
