Lemon Time

Senior Citizen Tea 100

As I mentioned in an earlier post, several weeks ago our school district
held a Senior Citizen Tea. This week I’m sharing the Lemon Table.
Senior Citizen Tea 094
The tea is an attempt to allow the senior citizens of our community to
get to know the school aged children of the community better.

I was asked if I would provide the centerpieces for
the tables, each to have a tea theme.

With the assistance of my daughters, we designed fourteen different
table tops.

We had approximately one hour in which to transform a high school
cafeteria into a room suitable for tea for 100.

In order to be as organized as possible, I designed each table at my
home, photographed it, and then packed the items for each table in
it’s own labeled box.

I inserted the photographs of the table, along with written directions,
in each box so that all of my helpers could arrange each table
themselves.

As many of you know, each Sunday I host a weekly meme or party
called Seasonal Sundays. Last year on my first blog- aversary, I hosted
a party called “Where do you keep it all?”. As this week marks my
second blog-aversary, this Sunday I’m again focusing on the question,
I’m asked the most. “Where do you keep it all? – Part 2”

If you’re a collector, whether it be tea cups or plates or whatever,
storage is always an issue. I hope you’ll join me in sharing where you
keep it all. It may be a pretty little hutch or a not so pretty but
serviceable shelf. Whichever, I hope you’ll share!

Some of you say that you wouldn’t dare show how you keep it all. Perhaps you’ll share how you keep some of it???

Reprise of Three Cheers for the Red, White and Blue

Copy of IMG_2266

I’m joining Chari at Happy to Design, for her meme called

“Sunday Favorites". It’s a meme designed to give bloggers a chance to

share a favorite post from the past.

Please be sure to come and visit Seasonal Sundays. It’s my Sunday

meme and it gives bloggers a chance to share what the season means

to them. I have a completely different post for Seasonal Sundays, but

didn’t want to miss joining in the fun of Sunday Favorites too.

The weather we had today in New York felt like a heat wave. It sure

puts us in the right frame of mind for Memorial Day!

Hope you have a wonderful Memorial Day celebration with your

family and friends.

Ok, now I really have to think about where I got all of this stuff. Most of it, I’ve had for so long.

  • Blue hurricanes, cobalt glasses, white round placemats, cobalt blue dinner plates, large bowl with blue edge and red dots – HomeGoods
  • Lidded red cake plate – just last week at a TJMaxx
  • Red polka dot tea pot and plates – Christmas Tree Shop
  • Tea towels used as napkins at Dollar Tree
  • The blue and white starred cloth is just some yardage
  • The little silicone stars are from some cook shop

Just in case you haven’t had enough red, white and blue, you

might want to pop back to my red, white and blue tablescape from

earlier this week click HERE.  With all of the Blogger issues of late, you

might of missed it.

It seems almost impossible to me that my second blog-aversary is quickly approaching. To celebrate my first blog-aversary, I hosted a party entitled “Where do you keep it all?”. It was a huge success and is by far my most visited post. In celebration of my second blog-aversary I will be hosting “Where do you keep it all? – Part 2” on Sunday, June 5th.

Now don’t be intimidated. It doesn’t have to be pretty or perfect. But please do share. I don’t think there’s a single one of us out there that collect and have the issue of storage under control. That’s the problem with collecting. Just when you have it all away, you find a new treasure. But isn’t that part of the fun of collecting?!?! So, grab the button above and put your thinking cap on. What would you like to share?

Welcome to The Tablescaper.

Memorial Day 2011 015

With Memorial Day just around the corner, many of us are pulling

out our red, white, and blue.

Copy of Memorial Day 2011 027

Memorial Day is our opportunity to honor those that have severed on

our behalf.

Memorial Day 2011 018

As the saying goes, many gave all.

Memorial Day 2011 046

Even those fortunate enough not to have lost their lives…

…are left with scars that will last their lifetime.

Copy of Memorial Day 2011 025

It is most important that we honor those that serve and protect us.

Memorial Day also marks the unofficial beginning of Summer!

…and picnics….

…and parties.

Memorial Day 2011 069

It’s a three day weekend and the grilling usually begins.

While we’re all enjoying ourselves…

stands for.
