Royal Wedding Part I–Seasonal Sundays #47

Welcome to Seasonal Sundays #47.

My daughters and I decided we should have a party to celebrate the Royal Wedding. How often does a Royal Wedding happen? Let’s have fun and make a memory.

We had a veil on the door to set the mood and welcome you (it was one of my daughter’s Communion).

A little tulle draped over the mirror…

…and a bouquet of fresh roses …

…set the mood.

Roses, ivy, tulle and pearls draped the bannister…

…in celebration.

The mantel was also decorated for the event.

Did you watch? It was a bit like watching a mature fairy tale. She became a princess, but after being with him for eight years and having a better understanding for what she was getting into.

Some silver (great buy at Saver’s)…

…set the stage (This beautiful teapot was from my spectacular day on Portabella Road in London several years ago. Silver teapots were flung over the stands like they were nothing).

Pearls and tiaras…

…were on display.

A little crown key chain was the party favor.

Reprise of Camilla

Camellia

Welcome to The Tablescaper.

Today’s tablescape was inspired by my camellia bush. I’ve had it for over ten years and it has never had anywhere near the amount the amount of blooms it has this year.

I saw these table linens (placemats, napkins and reversible runner) last year at Pier One and was smitten. I loved the bright colors. I waited, and waited and the moment they went on sale, they were mine!

These margarita glasses, with lime green inside and contrasting aqua outside, are the perfect match (from HomeGoods, several years ago).

Considering the number of times I’ve used these aqua dinner plates and bowls (purchased last year at a dollar store), I’m amazed at how I debated over buying them.

Bejeweled and bedazzled napkin rings were purchased many years ago at Christmas Tree Shop and this is the first time I’ve gotten to use them.

These camellias don’t look real!

I can’t believe they grew in my own backyard.

Pink plates are from Villeroy and Boch. Sadly their shop in Southampton has closed it’s doors.

Red Velvet

I’m late, I’m late for an very important date!

Michael Lee West just published her latest book, Gone With a Handsomer Man.

I told her I would do a post about Red Velvet Cake…

…in honor of Teeny Templeton who loves to cook. I haven’t read the
book yet. Everyone says it’s great! I think a copy is coming in the mail.

But life got in the way! I was away for Easter (pictures to come) and
then my daughters and I hosted a Royal Wedding Breakfast this
morning (more pictures to come and double yawn), and making red
velvet cupcakes just didn't happen.

I so didn’t want to disappoint Michael so I took a page from her book.
I bought them!

Of course I’m linking (rather late, but I just got done hosting a Royal
Wedding Breakfast at 5 am!) to Gollum’s Foodie Friday.
