Welcome to The Tablescaper!

Today’s tablescape conjures up so many images for me…

…graceful swans…

…and the glamor of the era of the silver screen.


It was an era of elegance and beauty.


My varied collection of pink Depression Glass is mingled with my
Mother-in-Law’s Lenox…


…and her sterling (Towle Fontana).


The glamour and elegance continues with a silken rose upon my
inlaid table.


My Nana’s footed Depression bowl, with matching spoon, rests upon
the silk runner, with leaves of silver, which was the inspiration of this
tablescape.


The new oval platter marries well with Nana’s Depression creamer
and sugar.


The detail of this new, albeit unmarked piece, adds to the elegance.


A lidded butter with pink Depression glass insert was a tag sale find
of many years ago.


Lovely Momma Swan tureen and…


…her little cygnets salt and peppers were purchased on an excursion
to HomeGoods with none other than the gracious Kathleen of
Cuisine Kathleen.


Join me for an evening of lingering and…


…fine dining.


We’ll be sure to fill these glasses with  delightful beverages.


Sweet delights are certain to fill the little sherbets.

Spring Bouquet

My youngest daughter received this Spring bouquet congratulating
her on her performance in our Community Theatre production. She
did a marvelous job!


It was the perfect match with this teacup.


To me, it is a Spring bouquet.


I’m not too familiar with Royal Sutherland, but it is a lovely cup and
saucer.


This little porcelain bouquet made it a trio.


It too hails from England.


Since Spring is taking it’s own dear time in getting here this year
(we’ve got possible snow in the forecast for this week), in the
meantime we’ve got enjoy the florist version of Spring.

Seasonal Sundays #42–Macy’s

Welcome to the 42nd Seasonal Sunday!


As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, we’ve recently been taking several trips to the city, New York City.

This particular visit, we focused on Macy’s, the world’s largest store!

The décor of Macy’s is fabulous.

What a dynamic display for jewelry.

We had a fabulous time at the Bobbi Brown counter! My oldest daughter had a makeover.

Even the Bobbi Brown displays were impressive.

Macy’s is so large it has it’s own Starbucks!

Blueberry Limoncello Cooler

Welcome to the Tablescaper.

Throw open the doors and say goodbye to the winter blues and…

… celebrate this glorious weather with…

…a Blueberry-Limoncello Cooler.

It’s so fun to jazz up your table by using unexpected items, such as this cobalt urn (HomeGoods) as an ice bucket. Love how the little ice tongs hang on the handle!

This awesome wine cooler/tureen is from Bombay (sob, sob no longer around). I filled it with Trader Joe’s  flavored waters: Blu' Italy. They come in lemon, lime, and unflavored. They used to come in these beautiful blue glass bottles, but sadly they’re now just plastic. They also have delicious sparkling blueberry juice!

Nothing like a little salt with your beverage.

It killed me to buy this mint when I know that in a few short weeks it will be growing like a weed!

This screaming cobalt pitcher and the matching glasses were finally on sale at Pier One.

Blueberry-Limoncello Cooler (by Giada De Laurentiis)

• 1 (750-ml) bottle limoncello liqueur, chilled
  
• 1 cup sparkling water, chilled
  
• 1 cup blueberries
  
• fresh mint sprigs, lightly crushed, plus extra for garnish
  
• chopped ice
  

In a pitcher, combine the limoncello, sparkling water, blueberries and mint sprigs. Fill glasses with crushed ice. Pour mixture into glasses and garnish with mint sprigs.
