The Simple Beauty of a Strainer

I enjoy all things tea related, whether they be a tea pot, a tea cup or a tea accoutrement.

This simple tea strainer is amongst my favorite tea accessories.

It is unmarked, but has so much detail: the loop handle, the small embossed gold swirls, the little beading, the delicate flowers.

The severity of this winter, enables us to pause and enjoy the beauty around us.

Last week, Mr. Scaper and I had an amazing time. We went to Eataly. It was like a little trip.

Not far from our home, lies the amazing world on New York City.

What an amazing experience.

There are  Italian delicacies (some made right before your eyes) and wine.

It is a culinary educational center.

This is a  gourmand's delight.

There are cured meats …

and cheeses,

fruits and vegetables,

fresh meats,

fresh fish,

 

 

 

handmade pasta,

desserts and baked goods

and coffees.

Reprise of The Snowflake Dance

As winter wears on, the snowflakes continue their dance.

Tonight not only will the snowflakes dance outside our window, but across our table.

The flicker of candle light will warm our hearts and continue the waltz.

The snowflake edge of the plate shadows the dinner plate.

Icy snowflakes act as chargers.

The tea light holders and runner echo the snowflake pattern.

This snowflakes looks like it will melt right into the glass.

The mirrored napkin rings were a wonderful find at Wal-Mart years ago.
