Vermont Visit–Seasonal Sundays #53

Seasonal Sunday Teapot copy
Welcome to The 53rd Seasonal Sundays.
Graduation 001
A couple of weeks ago, I had the pleasure of attending my niece's
graduation from University of Vermont which is located in
Burlington, Vermont.
Click on “More Photos” to see complete post.
Graduation 004
We had a wonderful weekend.
Graduation 011
Burlington is a terrific little city.

Graduation 013
Church Street is in the middle  of Burlington.
Graduation 020
And do you know what else is there??? An April Cornell store.
Graduation 022
Not only an April Cornell store, but the ONLY April Cornell store in
the entire United States.
Graduation 025
It was like visiting mecca. LOL!
Graduation 027
What a wondrous store. Unfortunately, April herself was out of town
at a conference in Alaska.
Graduation 029
Everything in her shop was so well displayed.

Graduation 033
I felt like a kid in a candy store.
Graduation 035
What to chose? What to chose?
Graduation 037
And although I’ve been to her web site a million times…
Graduation 039
…there was nothing quite like the tactile experience of being there.
Graduation 122

And as if all of that wasn’t good enough, the next day I got to visit the
April Cornell Clearance Center. Of course I made a few purchases. I’ll
be sharing them with you in upcoming posts.
You can always visit the virtual April Cornell store by clicking HERE.

Burlington, VT looks charming. How lucky you were to get to visit the April Cornell store AND the clearance outlet, as well! Her creations really are so pretty. I have one of her aprons. Happy Seasonal Sunday.

Can't wait to see what you chose.

Wow, what a great store. I know you had a grand time shopping here. I recall shopping at an April Cornell store in NYC when we lived there ~ on the west side, on Columbus. Has it closed?
Hope you are enjoying a great weekend. ~ sarah

Ahh what a neat looking city and what a great tour!
It reminds me of Madison, Wisc., probably because they are both college towns.
I would have loved seeing the April Cornell Store too!

Good morning - oh, we also love, love, love Burlington too! Your photos were just wonderful - and congratulations to your niece. Our best friend's daughter attended UVM and a good friend of ours lives on South Hero Island, so we've been visiting Burlington for about 30 years - it's a fantastic place to live and raise a family - a perfect small city. And I also love visiting the April Cornell stores. Whenever we're there in September there's usually a big sale table in the middle of the store - I hope there was one there for you. I'm addicted to tablecloths and napkins!!

If you have a moment you can check out one of my posts about our last visit to Lake Champlain - here's the link - http://froghollowfarmgirl.blogspot.com/2011/06/panicale.html. The post following this one is also about the same visit to our friend's little home on the lake. Hope all is well! Ciao, bella! xxoo

Loved your post. My favorite place to visit is Vermont but it has been ages since I was last there. I used to have an April Cornell outlet near me and it closed a couple of years ago. I went into mourning...

Good to see you yesterday, even though it was brief!

A couple of years ago we took our boat and went from Maine to Burlington via the Hudson River. What a wonderful trip that was, and like you, we so enjoyed Burlington. Loved the April Cornell shop as well as the other places we found to browse and buy.

I have long wanted to go to Vermont for so many reasons, but now you've given me that many more. April Cornell! Worth it just for that. I so miss our shop that used to be at one of the area malls. I always found something delectable when I visited, if not for me, then for my mother. Just looking at your pictures I could make a list of things I want. Thanks for sharing this lovely trip.
