Lemon Bars

Lemon Bars 0020103
My youngest daughter entered…
Lemon Bars 0020103
…her first Girl Scout Bake Off.
Lemon Bars 0020105
She chose to bake …
Lemon Bars 0020109
…Aunt Anne’s Lemon Bars.
Lemon Bars 0020111
They are amazingly easy.
Lemon Bars 0020108
And oh, so luscious.

Lemon Bars
Crust:
1 cup butter
½ cup powdered sugar
2 cups flour
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Cream and press into an ungreased jelly roll pan (15 x 10 x 1). Bake 15 minutes until light golden brown. Note: I prefer to use a food processor for the crust and pulse the ingredients until the size of small peas. Pour into pan, spread evenly and press to form the crust.
Lemon Filling:
4 eggs
2 cups sugar
½ teaspoon salt
4 Tablespoons Fresh Lemon Juice, with grated rind from lemons used
Combine the above ingredients until thick and lemon colored. Add
1 teaspoon baking powder
¼ cup flour
Pour on hot crust. Bake 20 minutes or until golden. Cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
I’m joining Gollum at Foodie Friday. Stop by and visit all of the tasty sites.
Looking forward to seeing you at Summer Sundays! It’s all about what SUMMER means to YOU!

…despite…

…being outdoors.

IMG_4069 IMG_4155

The sunlight is dancing…

IMG_4117

…upon each object in sight.

IMG_4128

So take up your glass…

    Summer Sundays #8

    IMG_4601
    Welcome to Summer Sundays #8!

    IMG_4554 It was a Girl’s Day!
    IMG_4614
My good friend Nancy hosted the festivities and…
    IMG_4548
…had her husband take us for an evening cruise.
    IMG_4565
The cruise was through the intercostals waterway in Westhampton, NY.
    IMG_4583
    The sights are…
    IMG_4558
    …amazing.
    IMG_4563
    Being a house fan…
    IMG_4601
…I’ve got to say, this has got to be…
    IMG_4590
…the best way to see them!
    Copy (2) of IMG_4566
    They come in all sizes.
    IMG_4569
If you’re in the market, I understand this one has recently been reduced to a mere 8 mil.
    IMG_4589
Can you believe a duck blind in this neighborhood?
    IMG_4546
There’s even an assisted nest for the Osprey.
    IMG_4602
It was a lovely evening. Thank you Captain.
After linking up, please come back and comment. Happy Summer.

    A Chartreuse and Fuchsia Celebration

    Copy of IMG_3002
In celebration of the 100th Tablescape Thursday by Susan at Between Naps on the Porch we’re having a party!
    IMG_3040

It’s a chartreuse and fuchsia party!!!
    IMG_3020
If these colors don’t scream CELEBRATE, then nothing does!
    Copy of IMG_3028
    One hundred Tablescape Thursdays.
    IMG_3026
    That’s a lot of tablescapes.
    Copy of IMG_2992
Even the napkins got decked out. Two layers and…
    IMG_2999
    …and a POW of fun.
    IMG_3056
    That’s a lot of color.
    Copy of IMG_3006
And by now you know, when The Tablescaper is ready to PARTY…
    IMG_3016
    …you’ve got to have COLOR!
    Copy of IMG_3037
Love how this flatware (a recent HomeGoods purchase) looks like it was made for this tablecloth (a long ago HomeGoods purchase) that has been sitting in my linen closet waiting for just the right occasion.IMG_3072
    Copy of IMG_3011
So Susan’s grand celebration was the perfect opportunity…
    IMG_3061
…to pull it all out and PLAY!
    IMG_3073

The dinner and cake plates are by Villeroy & Bach (I could cry that they closed the Southampton outlet) and the green polka dot plates are from Target, several years ago.
    Copy of IMG_3010
But the juxtaposition of color in this shot, makes it my favorite by far!
