Ok, I’ll be the first to admit that I dragged my heels and was kicking and screaming about Summer ending.
But enough is enough!
This warm weather is crazy.
It’s the end of September.
I’m ready to snuggle in and enjoy fall.
My children are back to school and we’re into the routine.
So where is that cool crisp air?
I want to snuggle up in a sweater.
I don’t want a crazy long winter either, but…
…I don’t want to go from Summer directly to Winter.
One of the many reasons I love living in New York is the change of seasons.
This placemat by Waverly was my inspiration for today’s tablescape.
These little fellows that I got from Michael’s last year had to join in the fun.
Happy Fall!
- Chargers from Target last year
- Pearl edged plates are from a dollar store (seriously), years ago
- I got the blue cake plates from HomeGoods last year. The minute I saw them I fell in love with them. I love the quilted feel. The blue tray in the center is from the same collection, but they are unmarked and I’ve never seen them again.
- The place card holders were a Century 21 purchase.
- The napkins are from a Pier One sale. They were $1.18@. What I like about them is that they are a steel blue, not navy.
- The flatware is by Gibson. It is so well done. It looks like wood, but clearly isn’t.
- The little plate that the acorns rest upon was a tag sale find.
- The napkin rings were from Christmas Tree this year. The glasses were a major score for both Kathleen and I at Christmas Tree. They were only $1 @!
Hope to see you Sunday at Seasonal Sunday!

What a gorgeous table! I love the way you've included blue, a color not usually considered a fall color, despite the fact that October skies are usually a glorious blue!
...ahhh Autumn...the funny thing its the best because we do get sunshine here!...and warm days...making up for that lack lustre summer...you see we either have sun or rain...(some fog & some snow)..so for now sun because then we will get the great leaf changing that you east coasters get every year...
But enough...I LOVE YOUR TABLES!...
Oh wow would I like to dine at your home!...can't decide if the bird salt & pepper or the leaf place card holders are my fav!...I think this is my super favorite one yet !..beautiful job...love the prices..I am having table envy...hmm not good of me I know!
Beautiful table...love the deep blue dessert plates...they go really well with the traditional autumn colors. Those gorgeous place mats look like they also have a little blue in them?
Your tables are always a treat to look at...never have I been disappointed!

This is one of my favorites that you have done, and considering how MUCH I generally love yours, that's saying something.
I LOVE it. It reminds me of the colors of the den in which I'm sitting right now. I love the blue with the orange. It's just plain perfect.

With a tablescape like this, I don't want you to go right from summer to winter either!! You need more fall days to create magic like this! Love the colour combo, I wouldn't have thought blue and orange would look so wonderful together! I love all your leaf accessories especially the napkin rings. Everything is so well coordinated and inviting! I'd love to be one of your guests!

Love your plate layers & colors! There are so many wonderful elements on your table...love your flatware & I'm partial to those sweet birds.
I am in agreement with Fall being overdue! We're finally going to be in the 60's instead of 90's by Sunday...
Thar is just lovely, A! I couldn't pick one thing I like best, (which I never understand cause you didn't ask us to! :) It all goes together beautifully. Those are the chargers I was asking you about. I guess they didn't have them this year.
The napkin rings and napkins look so pretty together.
I think I still have 4 of those glasses in my trunk!
Wonderful job!
Going back to scroll through again!
I can almost smell the leaves when I look at your table. I especially love the blues-they look terrific and are not usually thought of as autumn. Thanks for sharing with us!
This is just gorgeous!! I love blue with the autumn colors so much. Every detail is just perfect. Love those placemats, and I can see why they were the inspiration. Just beautiful!!
Well, I may have just stumbled on the BEST BLOG EVER! I love how you put your tablescapes together! This fall one is my favorite, but that's because fall is my favorite time of year! I'v been browsing for an hour! So many ideas I don't know where to start! Thank you and I'll be here more often for sure. You are very talented!
I love your pairing of blue and orange. It was so beautiful and such great textures. Those birdies from Michaels are just exquisite. I agree, Fall is wonderful, just wish it would last longer and winter shorter.
Of course, the blue is totally my kind of fall tablescape. Your usual genius touch is front and central on your tablescape. Hey, I put on a sweater this morning...for about 10 minutes, and then it was too hot again. LOL THank you for sharing your charming design.
Love the shades or orange and blue all together. Your attention to detail is always lovely!

You do set a beautiful table, and this one is no exception. Such pretty colors, and I LOVE that flatware! Is this the same fw that Kathleen has in green? I'm going to be on the hunt for some of that. Thank you for linking this beautiful table to Favorite Things Sat. laurie
I don't know how I missed this post! But, absolutely love it! The colors are very striking. Not your typical. That's what I love!
