Mardi Gras

It’s Fat Tuesday and time to…Mardi Gras 042
gather all your friends round the table to celebrate.
Mardi Gras,I 003
Just pull out the glitz…
Mardi Gras 057
…and glitter.
Mardi Gras 052
Might you wear a mask to disguise yourself?
Mardi Gras 064
There are many kinds.
Mardi Gras 053

Some with feathers…
Mardi Gras 069
Some that shine. Don’t forget the beads.
Mardi Gras 056
Check out all of the shine – even the napkin ring. It’s iridescent and gold. I wanted a little more gold, so added a gold doily for just a bit more gold.
Mardi Gras 045
This beautiful gilded Venetian pitcher and matching wine goblets was inherited from my husband’s family.
Mardi Gras 048
The raised detail in the flower petals is amazing.

Mardi Gras 072
The heavy gilding and intricate detail on the pitcher are beautiful.
Mardi Gras 066

Just add good food and celebrate…for tomorrow begins the season of Lent.

  • Tablecloth and napkins(the inspiration for this table) – William Sonoma outlet
  • Picher and goblets – Venetian Glass
  • Brass candlestick holders – collected through the years
  • Purple charger – Target
  • Aqua dinner plate – Dollar Tree
  • Black salad plate – boxed set, possibly WalMart several years ago
  • Napkin rings – Christmas Tree Shop, several years ago
  • Gold and purple metal “ribbon” and footed gold centerpiece, Pier One
I’m joining Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for Tablescape Thursday. Come join in.

It looks wonderful! It all came together beautifully!
That pitcher is amazing, what detail..
Now you can come look at mine, the ugly step sister. I used the same cloth, but didn't do Mardi Gras..The purple reminded me of the purple cloth they drape the statues in for Lent! LOL!! So mine is an Ash Wednesday table..:)
Hope you are having fun!

Just having come back from the French Quarter in New Orleans, this post is delightful. My favorite color is purple so I love to do the French Quarter close to Fat Tuesday, but not too close, lol. We were there 10 days ago for 3 great days. We go for the jazz we both love and I love the photography and the French influence and the shops on Royal St for inspiration. Wonderful post!
